Simple Great Idea

Fenske says "Hard work is a waste of time if your idea sucks." Here's an example of a great idea taking no time at all. He pushed a button and waited. The great idea comes from thinking it up in the first place, then giving it enough time to develop. Original source here.

Sometimes I get concerned, when my heart starts to race, I don't know whether it's the impending deadline of a campaign in an hour or the 2 cans of sugar-free red bull I shotgunned 5 minutes ago.

This Exists

Portland-based inventor Chris Hoffmann created it on a whim. Four years after getting the idea for a one-wheeled electric bike, he started building it just to get it out of his head. He figured he'd stop if he hit a roadblock. But he didn't. Check out the story here. —Lonnie

The MTA as a string instrument

Conductor: www.mta.me from Alexander Chen on Vimeo.

"Conductor turns the New York subway system into an interactive string instrument. Using the MTA's actual subway schedule, the piece begins in realtime by spawning trains which departed in the last minute, then continues accelerating through a 24 hour loop. The visuals are based on Massimo Vignelli's 1972 diagram."

Awesome idea, also incredibly important to use Vignelli's version to ensure direct contact. There's also a live feed at the MTA.me website.
